Nervous about permanent damage from IPL laser for broken capillaries. (photo)

5 days ago I had a laser treatment to remove broken capillaries and spider veins from my nose. The laser did a great job on the spider veins. They're gone and minimal redness, however the broken capillaries are still very red, purple and appear bruised. They seem worse. I don't see any improvement. Could the laser have made them worse? Or do I still need to give it some more time?

IPL for broken capillaries

Thank you for your question Pineygirl13. I understand your concern. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. It can be used for broken capillaries. Recovery can take 2 weeks or more. Sometimes multiple treatments are required for full results. Patience is important.

Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Redness Resolution

It is still soon after your treatment and IPL can cause some redness. I have found that clear + brilliant laser and microneedling/prp can improve skin after other procedures.  I suggest a formal consultation with a laser specialist.  Best, Dr. Emer.
