Filler in the inner corner of the eye? (photos)

Question

I have a ridge in the immer Cornea of my eye. When I was swollen it went away and I like the look of it so much, it makes it also less dark in the Areal and my eyes appear further apart. Is it possible to inject a filler in the area and make it disappear like it did with swelling? Or is it to dangerous to inject something in that area and it could make me blind?

Yes, filler can be injected in the hollow area near the nose, called tear trough area.  The best filler to use would be either Belotero or Restylane. See an oculoplastic specialist.

Filler can be injected in this area if properly placed.  Side effects are limited if you use cannulas, so I suggest finding a physician who uses this type of technique.  Fractional radiofrequency lasers work very well for this concern as well, especially in combination with microneedling.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It's very common to have a hollow in the area of the lower eye lid that is referred to as the "tear trough." This can be softened very nicely with the right filler. I usually use Restylane or Belotero depending on several factors that we discuss during the consultation. It's very important to see a physician who is very experienced in placing filler in this region. I've recently seen a couple of patients who had Radiesse or Juvéderm Voluma placed in this area, and these are the wrong fillers for that location.

Thanks for the question and thanks for the photo as well. You need aconsultation with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn the best options for you. This needs to be done by someone very skilled in the fillers chosen and also understands the anatomy of the area where you are talking about. Most of us would use Belotero or Restylane Silk in this area – they seem to do the best job. But again, the skill of the injector is critical here.
