I am a 19 year old female suffering from acne and severe hair loss. I have read on internet about Spironolactone . Also I've had my first PRP session two weeks back. I want to know can I start Spironolactone along with my PRP.I have been on Diane 35 that helped my acne for the time I used it. But my acne were back once I stopped it. Since in PRP, doctors take blood from body and it's advised not to take any blood thinning medicine. Is Spironolactone safe to use while I'm taking PRP sessions.

There's no contraindication to taking spironolactone while using PRP injections. Spironolactone is a blood pressure medicine that has some hormonal effects and is not a blood thinner. Find a PRP expert. Ask to see photos.

There are no contraindications with taking Spironolactone while undergoing PRP therapy. Spironolactone does not thin the blood but it can cause electrolyte imbalances so make sure that you are getting your blood work checked.  Best of luck.
