Just want to confirm when can i wear a cap and go out in public or work. Its been 5 days now and i am not going outside. is there any way to hide my head in public too if cap is not allowed
Answer: Headwear After Surgery If a social situation or event necessitates the use of headwear, I would recommend a loosely fitted baseball hat or a carefully placed beanie after 24 hours has passed since the time of your hair transplant procedure. Check that the underside of the cap or beanie is not abrasive, as a rough surface can wear away at the grafted area and potentially reduce the growth of the transplant. Also be sure to keep the cap or beanie clean, as infections can lead to ingrown hairs, with can negatively affect growth. Pay attention to the placement of the cap or beanie as well to ensure that you do not disrupt the angulation of the grafts. The scalp will heal 10-14 days after your surgery—wearing a hat at that point is up to you.
