What kind of grafts will I need for my pinched nose? (Photos)

My nose is very indented on the sides and very pinched and overall very small, if i put pieces of cotton pads in my nose (see the last picture) my nose looks way better, what kind of grafts will i need to make it like that?

It depends whether or not you have obstructed nasal breathing. Your creases are at the back end of your tip cartilages, and many times this is associated with nasal blockage. In these cases, "Lateral crural extension grafts", also called batten grafts may be considered. If you have a purely cosmetic issue, depending on your exam, microdroplet Silikon-1000 may be considered for permanently filling in the creases without surgery. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Thank-you for your question! A rhinoplasty with reshaping of cartilages and possibly some cartilage grafts can help you achieve a good aesthetic outcome . Just putting a graft at the indentation may not help as much. How to widen a narrow “pinched” nose? Your nose does not look particularly narrow or “pinched“ to me in the before photos, nor do I see a great difference in the “after“ with the cotton. However in general, a narrow nose can be widened by placing Cartlidge grafts on one or both sides of the septum. These are called spreader grafts. Another technique is to place a Cartlidge graft on one or both sides under the skin of the nose. These are called onlay grafts. In rare cases, particularly with extremely crooked noses both graphs may be used simultaneously. But once again your nose does not look particularly “pinched“ to me .
