Hello. I had a bbl 22 wks ago. I have been a little sore and itchy off and on since my procedure. However I have a few lumps on my left cheek. Any time I sit for a long period of time the lumps get bigger. They hurt and itch like crazy. Is this normal or should i be worried?

Answer: Pain itching and swelling 22 weeks after BBL What you describe is not normal. Most patients should see final results by three months. Persistent inflammation may represent larger areas of deep fat necrosis. I suggest following up with your plastic surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

Answer: Lumps, Pain, Itching Following BBL You need to follow up with a plastic surgeon. It's hard to say without a proper consult and inspection, but it's possible the lumps are fat that did integrate with homogeneous consistency or was put in too superficially. You may be a candidate for BBL revision. If you are an candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) revision, the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or Facetime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
