I have scheduled a facelift for Aug. 4th - specifically, chin lipo, mini facelift, upper eyelids, and endoscopic brow lift - general anesthesia for 5.5 hrs. Surgeon is board certified PS highly reommended by my PCP. He is not concerned about my trigeminal nerve - should I be? I was diagnosed with Atypical TN about 5 years ago - when episodes occur the pain is centered in and around my right ear. I take 400 mg. carbamezipine daily and episodes are sporadic. What are your thoughts on this?

If you are in good health there's really nothing to take by mouth prior to a facelift. They certainly will not improve the outcome. Check with your own surgeon about his personal preferences.
Nonsurgical treatments such as fillers can help address your concerns, along with a brow or eyelid lift to address sagging lids. Regardless what you do, however, please try to stop smoking as the habit will only make your appearance worse.
I am sorry to hear you are in pain. Each patient's body is different and your doctor may have his/her reasoning for leaving the sutures in a bit longer. Chat with your doctor about your pain and discomfort. Your doctor wants your procedure to be successful and cares about your comfort. Good luck!
