Dental assistant had a lot of difficulty placing permanent crown. It is extremely larger than my original tooth. I was told the original mold was “cemented” aka unavailable for being resubmitted to the crown company. No adjustments are being offered at this time.still have pain & hot/cold issues.Temporary crown fit great in my original clear retainer. Dentist repeatedly reminds a root canal may still be needed-Dentist offered to pay for new (other company) retainer. What are my options now?

HI:You should go to a dentist to try to recement the crown ASAP. The longer you wait, the higher the possibility of the crown not fitting.Best,Dr. Maddhi
You are likely clenching/grinding on the tooth and that is not giveng ample healing time. The tooth gets bruised and the pain persists. Have your dentist check that first, and if pain continues you could reevaluate the situation. Good luck.
Hello and thank you for your question. It’s difficult to tell from your pictures. I recommend following up with your Dentist or a Prosthodontist to make sure this is not an infection. A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has advanced training in tooth restoration.
