I have Keratosis Pilaris Rubra. Why would a reduction in redness only last for a week after V Beam?

I read Vbeam stacking at lower settings is as good as bruising settings for diffuse redness. Can I have lower settings/stacked pulses and achieve similar results as bruising settings? My KPR is diffuse redness without keratin papules/flushing. I had 5 Sciton BBL treatments with no improvement and 1 Vbeam Perfecta at 8.5 J/cm2 / 6ms. Post Vbeam I had a reduction in redness for 6 days. I am now back to normal without much improvement. Why would there be a reduction in redness for only one week?

The KP is likely associated with some inflammation and thus the results are not permanent. We would encourage the use of the PDL + application of an exfoliant, chemical peel, and KP Pads. Best, DR. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

KP rubra is genetic and in some people there are no cures.  If the PDL isnt working well or lasting, stronger settings need to be tried or considering IPL or other vascular laser treatments such as Excel V and/or laser genesis.  Botox injections do well for this also, but only last 4-6 months and need to be done by someone very well trained.  Best, Dr. Emer.
