I had laser hair removal treatment for underarm. I asked the technician for eye glasses, she said its not require and see I am also not wearing them. I was really surprised and didn't know what to say so I went on with the procedure.

Answer: Always protect your eyes Most effective and common laser hair removal devices include: diode, alexandrite and nd:yag. It is absolutely crucial that one protects the patients eyes from all the above lasers. I urge you to continue the rest of your treatments in a board certified cosmetic practitioners office.

Answer: Laser goggles required for all laser procedures Don't know what they were thinking. Some people think IPLs are eye safe but they too are not. There are portions of the laser light that are reflected off the skin. Also an inadvertent shot of the laser when not touching the skin could leave you with permanent visual loss. Don't risk it. For patients I always use the safest eye protection which is metal shields. Goggles are need by the operator for obvious reasons but still can allow light in if it comes from the side or underneath.
