What can I do about this redness on my upper lip after laser hair removal?

I am using laser for removing hair on the upper lip for 6 months or so, but since last month, redness has appeared on the upper lips. Now I'm afraid this spot won't go away as I have been told that if you don't use sun protection regularly after the hair removal, dark or red spots appear and stay in your skin. please help:\

Thank you for your question.Sun exposure can have a pigmentation effect on your skin where areas have been treated and not properly cared for. Contact the provider who performed your laser hair removal treatments for a follow-up appointment to receive advice in regards to the spot and to review post-care instructions. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.
