Can Restylane be used in the temple area to increase volume?

Question

I need temple volume. The only filler that does not cause swelling on me is classic restylane or radiesse (too worried about vascular compromise). Can old fashioned restylane be used on temples?

Thank you for your question. If you have experienced unusual swelling from other injectables, the problem may not be the injectable substance itself, but the way it is being injected. It is impossible to tell without seeing you in person. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a very experienced, qualified injector. Thank you for your question.  Yes Restylane can be used in the temple are to help improve the volume loss.  Another great option is Sculptra.  Sculptra is a product that rebuilds your own collagen and needs approximately 3 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart.  Sculptra could last up approximately 2 years.  I would suggest speaking to an experienced injector whether it be a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or a Board Certified Dermatologist.  Best of luck to you.

you can use any fillers in the temples but radiesse and bellafill do the best (more lift and longer term results).  sculptra can also be used. regular restylane will require many more syringes and last much less time.  Best, Dr. Emer.

In my opinion, Restylane could be used to add volume to the temples.  There are many fillers that could be used in the temples that would last longer than Restylane, but Restylane should work fine in that area.

Restylane Lyft and Restylane-L have a more predictable lift capacity than many of its competitor products. And they don’t tend to absorb a lot of water and swell (hygroscopic properties). So for me, they are the “go to” HA products for temples. I’m addition, I use a fair amount of Sculptra in the temples for volume augmentation as well.

The temple can be treated with any hyaluronic fillers using a cannula, and Restylane is a good filler to use for volume. Always consult with a board certified medical practitioner for your temple filler treatment.

Various fillers can be safely and effectively injected into the temples to increase volume and improve facial balance, and reduce the "skeletalization" that occurs with our faces over time. Restylane-family products are excellent for treating this area. They are also reversible with hyaluronidase (unlike radiesse) which enhances the safety & satisfaction factor.
