Breast implants are made with toxic materials like heavy metals and other toxic chemicals, so since we already know the textured implant is linked to cancer, is there any SAFER less toxic implant available? I may have a rupture and need to remove or replace mine however fat transfer has also proven to be very temporary as the body easily absorbs the implanted fat after a couple months so thats not an option. Thank you.
Answer: Breast implant Dear Genius107774, there have been numerous studies on the safety and efficacy of silicone breast implants. The FDA has approved them to be safe and breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed in the United States every year. Implants are much different than they used to be with rigorous testing and cohesive gel. I can't tell you how happy my breast augmentation patients have been with their implants. I would recommend a consult with a plastic surgeon to go over all of your concerns. Saline implants are also a perfectly good option if you are still concerned and are less expensive. Answer: Surgery The least "toxic" implant is the saline implant which is filled with saline. We are about 60% saline in composition. However, the bag is still a silicone bag. Do remember heavy metals are present in tattoo ink, hair dyes, many cosmetics, cleaning products, and especially in mercury fillings for teeth, plus in many sprays for insects in your home, yard, and food.

Answer: Explant with Bellesoma Method Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your implant size or bra size. However, a alternative to consider is a explantation with lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
