How long will a lateral (temporal) brow lift last? (Photo)

The temporal brow lift is indicated for patients who do not need elevation of the medial brow. There are a number of factors that can affect the longevity of the temporal brow lift. If you not satisfied with the result of your lift, you might want to consider a mini open brow lift with the removal of skin. The advantage to this lift is that the medial brow is elevated, skin is removed , and the hairline is not changed. It can also diminish both forhead wrinkles and provide relaxation to the brow depressor muscles (usually injected with botox). This is  cery safe and easy lift with a short recovery.

The duration of a temporal brow lift is variable and to some extent depends on factors that are not under the surgeons control: ie the patient’s anatomy and elasticity of tissues.  Some relaxation always occurs within the first several months.  I have modified my technique to get longer lasting results.  However, patient satisfaction is very high in general.

Temporal brow lifts are generally fixed to the skin or the deep temporal fascia. In either case the results can be variable as these soft tissues can loosen and stretch causing gradual loss of the effect over time.  If the brow looks good at 6 months that would be a very good sign. The early stretching and loosening will happen in 6 months and the remaining lift should last a number of years (5 years +).
