My Son's Bracket Fell off During Our Vacation?

We get calls from out-of-town folks who are visiting locally during summer and the holidays that have some sort of orthodontic problem.  All orthodontists should be sympathetic towards these patients...their patients may be calling someone else while they are traveling.  How each doctor handles these situations depends on the practice and more so by the problem the patient is experiencing.  We don't want to interfere with another doctors treatment....so, often we will remove any loose parts, clip long wire ends and "patch up" obvious problems but re-bonding loose brackets will probably be left to the supervising doctor.  Bracket positioning is very important and not "universal" so if it can be safely left off until the patient returns home (which may seem neglectful), don't be surprised if this is what you find.  Cost-wise?  I do these things for no-charge but an office visit fee may be asked for.
