Cutiepie! From what I see.....you would benefit from orthodontics by tons and tons. You look like a cute gal with a long life ahead of you. Don't hate your teeth...hate the crookedness of them. I'd recommend fixed braces for you, although Invisalign may be more attractive to you, because you need some solid expansion of your upper arch. Maybe some extractions if the upper crowding is too extreme for your soft tissue profile BUT move ahead with this correction. The cost of quality treatment spread over a lifetime of outstanding function and beauty will be pennies per day. You will look GREAT!
You would most likely be required to have braces again to act as "handles" on the dental arches for the surgeon to "ligate to". Post-surgically, the braces would be in place for final detailing of the finished product. Good Luck!
This is the toughest question I've ever seen on this site......since you've provided no information about you except your age! Take some photos of your teeth and facial profile and post. Tell us what your chief concerns are and what you'd like to see "fixed". All depends on the given conditions. Give us some info!
Interproximal reduction (IPR) is programmed into many Invisalign treatment plans and the prescribed IPR may be staged at various times throughout the treatment. Your doctor may have elected to limit the initial IPR knowing that the remaining amount would be completed at a later date. You are good to question but allow your provider to describe the needed requirements. Ask to see the Clincheck to verify the tooth movements you may be experiencing. Sometimes, a front tooth will be intentionally moved forward to provide room for its neighbor to align and then be gathered back in alignment. Good Luck!
I believe the answer is, "No". Guess you could call the dental board and get a definite answer. Probability is that the assistants are more experienced in handling these materials though. The laws vary from state to state regarding extended duties but laws don't regulate quality. I learned a ton from an elderly male dental assistant at the VA Hospital during my oral surgery rotation at the Hospital Dentistry Program. Felix taught me how to gently extract teeth. I remember his time-worn hand covering mine while he said, "Firm steady pressure....from side to side". You want a quality impression and an involved, supervising doctor that checks every step along the way regardless of who takes the impression. Just my opinion. Impressions for any final appliance by law......
