My surgeon told me to leave the steri-strips on..It has been 8 weeks. When I finally took them off, they had thick scars. I have never had scarring issues. The surgeon said the scars may be due to the steri-strips. The nipples have no feeling. None. The scarring seem to be thickening towards nipple since the strips came off. What is going on?

Answer: Anesthesia of the nipples is possible after breast reduction.
Hi.
The best thing to do is to see your plastic surgeon regularly for at least three months. After that, any asymmetry is likely to be permanent.
During most breast reductions, the nipple is not removed from the breast and grafted to its new location. Instead it is kept attached to the breast tissue and tunneled to its new location. Therefore, it is entirely possible that the troubled nipple is being tethered by a deeper part...
The best thing you can do is maintain a healthy lifestyle, eat the right foods and get plenty of fluids and rest. Foods high in protein help wounds heal faster as well. Being patient throughout the healing process and focusing on a balanced diet will definitely help you heal faster!
