My husbands tooth has a huge hole can it be filled in? or is it too big to be filled? Also around how much would the cost be? He does not have insurance. Thank you in advance.

Based on the photo that you've provided, it appears that your husband may very well need a crown.  Not having dental insurance should not be a huge barrier, because dental insurance usually doesn't pay more than 50% of the cost of crowns anyway and no more than $1,000 to $2,000 per year.  This means that if you get a crown on that tooth with insurance, it will likely cost you about $400-$500, but without insurance, it will cost you about $800-$1,000, depending on your region.  Many dental offices will give you a free consult, so I recommend looking for an office offering a free consult, then go there and get the crown.  Most will allow you to pay 50% or less down and then the other 50% or so, when you come back to get the permanent crown placed.  Good luck and I hope this helps. Unfortunately without an X-ray it is very difficult to know the depth of the cavity and it's proximity to the nerve.  The best thing to do is get your husband to go to a dentist and take an X-ray right away.  The danger of waiting is root canal and infection.
