I have a very round/wide type face and my lower face (jaw and chin) looks like one straight line with no level difference between the chin and the jaw. I have a small chin. I want to make my face taller and sharper, by making my chin taller and bigger, is it possible by surgery? Help me out here.
Answer: How to lengthen the lower face
Slliding genioplasty surgery is one way of both augmenting the chin area and lengthening the chin. The surgery involves advancing the chin bone itself foward and then securing it in place with a small titanium plate.
At the same time, the chin bone can be tilted downward somewhat to also lengthen the lower face.

Answer: Improving Facial Contours and Definition
Multiple techniques can be used to enhance facial definition. Cheek and chin augmentation with implants, fillers, or fat are beneficial. I need to see pictures before making specific recommendations.

Answer: Is It Possible to Make my Face Taller by Chin Implants or Any Other Surgery?
This is a very common question that I am asked by patients from all over the world. A round face can be converted into a more aesthetically attractive "angular-shape for men" by shaping the cheeks appropriately. Cheek augmentation with fillers (I prefer Perlane) can be done in the office as a 10 minute procedure or cheek implants can be placed for a permanent enhancement.
If the chin is weak, then augmenting the chin with a filler (I prefer Radiesse ) or a chin implant will balance the face. In a normal shaped chin, placing a chin implant to increase the lower face height would not convert the round face to the angular shaped one. In fact, the lateral wings, of the implant, would show as grooves at a 45 degree angle to the jawline and look quite odd.
Don't overlook the flare, or more precisely the angle of flare of the jaw. I do not use or recommend jaw implants due to their high rate of complications but instead prefer using Radiesse injections to achieve the desired flare.
I have written a book on the aesthetics of facial/body beauty which explains this in greater detail. For a ruggedly handsome male face...think angular. That's the key.

Answer: Facial height change
One's facial height depends commonly on the height of the 'upper jaw'/mid face. If it 'undergrows' vertically, the lower jaw 'hinges upwards' and the jaw looks typically a bit square and the chin height short.
Yes, one can change the height of the face. The ideal is to lengthen the overall height of the upper jaw and the chin; or one can restrict treatment to the chin alone; but one has to expect a reasonable result if you limit the treatment.
