My cheek was ripped open joker style the stitches have been removed. How long is the healing process for the inside of my mouth?

I was a victim of domestic violence. My right cheek was ripped opened, it has been 30 days and both stitches inside/out have been removed. The inside of my cheek is very thick, hard, and not as flexible as the other and still very tender. Will this swelling/hardness go away? How long is the healing process? Please any info you have will give me hope. This guy took my smile away.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

So sorry to hear about what happened to you! The best thing to do for your incision is to let it heal...this means very little movement of your mouth. So, no kissing, oral sex, or large amounts of talking. The thickness/hardness will soften and go away, as will the tenderness and swelling. It just will take some time, around three to four months in the least. It takes a full year for an incision to heal completely.
