Will my Breathing Get Better?

Question

I had a septoplasty/rhinoplasty 6 weeks ago with an ENT and a plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon inserted spreader grafts (2 on the right, 1 on left) and shaved down the dorsal bump. The ENT corrected my deviated septum & turbinate reduction. Since then I have always felt my left nostril is partially blocked but I can breathe fine out of the right. I saw my ENT yesterday and he says my septum is straight and it "should resolve". I haven't felt much improvement, will this get better?

Thanks for the question. 6 weeks is too short a period to say the Septoplasty has failed. The lining of the nose can remain swollen for several months after this procedure. 3 months is a better period. I hope this helps

6 weeks is still early to determine your final result after a septorhinoplasty. Intranasal swelling can persist for months. I would maintain faith in your surgeons and not look for further intervention for a minimum of 6 months and preferably one year. Best wishes.
