After a Breast Reduction, what are the chances of breasts growing back?

My biggest fear is that my boobs will grow back after some period of time. Any advice/opnions? I'm short, 5"1 and a 32DD in a "roomy" bra. I developed early and have always had back and shoulder pain no matter what bra I wear. I also hate my breasts for getting unwated attention. They sag, don't really have any sensation and basically are just painful. I am finally ready to get them off me and I really scared of going through elective surgery. My fear is............they will come back!! I've heard a few women who did the surgery say that. I am done having kids, but I've heard menopause or birth control pills can even make them grow back again. Would love to hear what you have to say about this. Thank you

and having a reduction doesn't prevent you from having fluctuations in your breast size post-op.  And if you ever experience marked growth of the breast size, you should see your doctor.

Breasts do not commonly grow after a reduction unless you put on weight or are still growing as a young adult.

Hello, and thank you for your question.Once you have had your breast reduction, then you are the same as other women with breasts. In other words, some women have changes to their breast size during their lifetimes, as you have pointed out( due to things weight gain, and hormone influences). If you have had a breast reduction, you have the same chance as everyone else of this happening or not-happening to you. The fact that you have had your breasts reduced does not affect the other factors.In my 20+ years of practice, I have not seen many women present with this problem.I wish you well in your journey.
