Why do my 600cc implants look half the size of 680cc expanders?

I had exchange done a week ago and I am in shock how small I am VS the expander size. There is only 80cc difference but the look is shocking

the release of the capsule around the expander causes the actual volume in the breast to increase.  Also, many of the expanders are much more rigid than the breast implants, so they hold their shape against the compression by your own tissues and skin. The permanent implants are softer and more natural feeling, thus they do not hold their shape against your skin and tissues as much.

When the tissue expander is in the pocket, there is significant scar tissue or contracture around the device.  When you make the exchange to the implant it is common to release the scar tissue to make the breast have a more natural feel. The volume is actually more, just not compressed in such a small space. It's a tradeoff for a softer breast.
