There is no standard amount of fatty tissue that needs to be removed during gynecomastia surgery, as it depends on your body built and plastic surgery goals. But as a general rule, we don’t remove all of the fatty tissues because you need something to support your nipples and areolae. This will prevent the development of crater deformities.

There is no standard in terms of how much fat is removed. It's different for each patient. However, some tissue needs to remain behind to support your nipples.

Thank you for your question. If you are not happy with the results for your surgery, you should speak to your surgeon. The amount of fat removed will differ in each case, but all of it is not removed for a good cosmetic result.

It is impossible to remove all the fat with liposuction or direct excision, and  if over excised, this may lead to contour issues.

I am sure your doctor wanted you to be safe and had strong reasons to not suction out all the fat. Under the areola we do maintain some glandular tissue to maintain the shape, however most of the fat should be removed specially from the sides
