Hi there, I have hashimotos but would like to use a filler for nasolabial folds. What is the least invasive and most tolerated substance if you have an autoimmune condition? thank you

I recommend treatment of the nasolabial folds with a hyaluronic acid based filler like Restylane Refyne or Restylane Defyne.

Thanks for your question.  Hyaluronic acid based fillers ( Juvederm and Resylane family of products) are the way to go.   These fillers are dissolvable in the rare event something goes wrong.  Go to an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.  Go for it, fillers are great! HA fillers are safe in autoimmune conditions. I perform at LEAST one to two a week on complex cases like GVHD and autoimmune conditions that can present on the skin - like lupus.
