Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis. We see atrophic and hypertrophic scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. If you have active acne, you would be wise to consult with a board certified dermatologist who can treat you with proper in-office procedures (such as the intralesional injection of anti-inflammatory medication for acne nodules and cysts and superficial chemical peels) and at-home prescription medications to suppress new breakouts. Microdermabrasion might not only be unhelpful, but may trigger breakouts and make the skin generally more irritated and sensitive and thus more likely to be unduly irritated by topical anti-acne medications, which often already possess the unwanted potential for drying out the skin.
