Can I completely remove a small white scar?

Repigmenting flat, whitish scars, not unlike attempting to repigment areas of vitiligo as well as other causes of pigment loss, is not always successful. However, for more than a decade I have been successfully combining the use of medical microneedling (sometimes called fractional microneedle resurfacing or needle dermabrasion)  with the topical application of tyrosine, the primary amino acid responsible for melanin pigmentation in our skin, at the time of treatment. The theory here is that the uptake of the tyrosine is increased via the microchannels created by microneedlling promoting repigmenation. During treatment the fine needles used may also serve to microtransplant melanocytes from the surrounding normally pigmented skin region to the whitish scar for further enhancing repigmentation. 

White scars are difficult to improve. I have had success performing ablative lasers followed by microtransplantation of skin to areas that lack viable melanocytes. The technique was demonstrated by my colleague plastic surgeon in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. This state of the art technique allows for regaining of lost pigmentation in scars. You can not eliminate a scar but you can significantly blend its appearance and make it less noticeable with a series of laser treatments. Best to see an experienced dermatologist with advanced training in lasers.
