Could I have torn inside stitches from my breast reduction surgery? What happens if I did?

You are doing too much too soon.  After
breast reduction surgery, I advise the patients to take one week off from work.
The patients may return to work at that point, but may not engage in any
strenuous activity. At one month, the patients start low impact cardio. Up to
this point you should be sleeping on your back propped up on pillows. At
three months they can engage in more strenuous physical activity. If anything
hurts or causes swelling, we ask them to back off somewhat.

I have patients limit their exertion for several weeks after surgery. This may all be related to doing too much too soon. If concerned, speak to your surgeon.

Thank you for your inquiry.   Most likely at 2 1/2 weeks you did not cause any serious damage.  Many times activities can cause an increase in inflammation again in one or both breasts.   I recommend seeing your plastic surgeon for an exam and advice as to how to manage your pain at this time.  I would also recommend staying in a supportive sports bra until your appointment.
