Is this white substance wound that healing or pus? (Photo)

Hello I am almost 2 weeks on Tuesday. I noticed a tiny white area on my right breast. Is this something I should be concerned about? Not sure if it is puss or just wound healing?

Looks like your wound has separated...since you have implants underneath that incision, best to get seen by your plastic surgeon so your wound can be monitored and treated if necessary.

Based solely on your photo, it looks as if a portion of your incision has opened. This isn't uncommon. Call your surgeon and discuss proper wound care in order to insure that it doesn't become infected. My best,

Congratulations on your recent surgery! It appears as though a small portion of your incision has opened up. Based on the photo, it does not look as though there is an infection but I would recommend calling your surgeon for an appointment to get instructions on wound care. It is especially important to follow your surgeon's recommendation in order to avoid infection because you have implants. Best of luck!

In the photo, seems that one end of the incison open a little, and the white color there is part of the open wound, that is minimal, it does not look infected, but it is better to check with your surgeon.

From your photos, it appears that you have a small dehiscence (separation) of a portion of the incision.  Whitish material is most often the product of some dead skin cells.  I would recommend contacting your plastic surgeon's office promptly as he or she will want to see you, and will likely have you begin some local wound care and/or antibiotics.  Most wounds like this will heal quite well, as long as infection does not develop.  Best wishes.

Thanks for your question. It does not look like an infection to me in the photo, but you should definitely show that to your surgeon in the next day or two. It may be just a portion of the incision that is healing slower than the rest. Sometimes a skin edge will become irritated by our instruments during surgery, and that may be what you are seeing. It is hard to tell what is going on and any concerns such as this are best addressed in person and you should see your plastic surgeon as soon as they can make time for you.  Most likely you have a small wound separation but you want to make sure this is treated and seen to make sure it is nothing more serious and that you minimize any potential for your implants to get infected or exposed.

Hi,This looks like a wound healing problem. There might be several causes like excessive wound margin damage by implant insertion, maceration, blood circulation problem (if you are smoking) etc.It doesn't look like a very bad wound and it will probably heal just with a daily dressing, however to make it sure you have to pay visit to your surgeon. From the appearance of the photo you have a slight wound separation at the inframammary incision site. It looks good from here but should be seen by your PS or the nurse. Most of these heal rather nicely and shouldn't  pose any compromise.
