Hi there,So after your surgeon has cleared you to resume the gym / exercise - I would say stick with workouts and cardio that targets more muscle building than fat burning. For example - heavy weights (squats, lower body) low repetition versus high repetition and light weights (more fat burning). But if you hypertrophy the gluteus - you can project the butt more and possibly lift and shape it more from that.Cardio - I would recommend low intensity, lower body building (stair master). Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question! At 6 weeks post op, you have no exercise restrictions. However, I recommend maintaining your weight to avoid altering your results. Best of luck!
Always ask your plastic surgeon about specific activities and when they can be resumed after surgery. As a bodybuilder, I understand the need to return to the gym, but healing should be far enough along to reduce the incidence of complications. I usually ask my patients to wait from 4 to 6 weeks, depending upon how the healing goes. Squats and lunges after a BBL will only increase muscle bulk and definition, which is probably a good thing in most women looking to achieve a more projected, lifted buttock. As a board certified plastic surgeon, I advocate continued weight lifting and exercise after a BBL as long as you do not lose body fat. Keep an eye on your weight, and decrease the amount of exercise as warranted.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Six weeks after surgery you should not have any exercise restrictions. Working on your gluteal muscles may further enhance the appearance of your buttocks.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to wait at least 4-6 weeks before resuming their workout rutine (cardio, lift, etc.). Lifting, squats and lunges after a BBL will only help increase muscle bulk and definition and achieve a more projected buttocks. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Three months almost all patients have results that are final or close to final. It is rare I see patients what firmness this far out. Your description is subjective and much depends on how the procedure was done. At this point there is nothing you could or should do other than give it more ti...
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. If you don't have swelling, pain or severe bruising, it is very unlikely that your results could be damaged. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
You are wise to be concerned. The current mortality rate for a BBL is 1 in 3000. The recent deaths with patients having a BBL have mainly been attributed to fat embolism. This can occur if the fat is injected deep into the muscle with rupturing the gluteal veins. The fat is then travels through...
