How long does swelling last after a lip lift?

It really depends on a variety of factors - there are some patients who are significantly swollen for a few weeks, and there are others who have some moderate swelling, while some have minimal swelling. It also varies by technique used by the doctor - some techniques are designed to create as minimal swelling as possible while giving maximum results.  The one thing that is universally true though, is that the muscle along the midline ALWAYS swells up more than the sides, which may cause an unnatural appearance across the middle and giving the impression that the middle is higher than the sides - especially within the first week.  Hang in there! I suggest you contact your doc so that they can give you an idea of what is expected as they are familiar with what was done in your case.  Rest assured, that you will improve and things will continue to get better over the next few weeks.  Best of luck! 

Post-operative swelling following a Lip Lift typically lasts 2 weeks on average although individual results may vary.  Swelling can certainly accentuate the height of the upper lip making it appear more augmented.
