In our practice we use Zoom whitening. I have used them all and find that this procedure gives the patient the most optimal results to enhance their smile by whitening. It is a two hour procedure and the results can be dramatic. I hope that it works well for you. Be sure to follow your dentist's post operative instructions to ensure that you do not get restaining in the first 48 hours. Good luck.
Unfortunately the older one gets, the longer it will take to have teeth bleaching, due to denser dentin layer.Best advise is to see a cosmetic dentist first to evaluate your teeth, gums, roots prior to starting any teeth bleaching. Most probably you will be a candidate for power bleaching, which is in office one day bleaching in combination with take home trays and bleaching material depending on the examination from your cosmetic dentist. If no satisfactory results or improvement, you might consider porcelain veneers for a more permanant whitening, with no hassle.Possibility of lumineers also exists, but I advise you to ask for a wax-up before commencing this procedure
Hello there,It is difficult to access the color through this photo, but you can definitely try Zoom whitening or in office whitening. The procedure takes about an hour and cosists what patients like to call the "blue light". The lamp helps oxidize the superficial stains that have accumulated over the years. Coffee, tea, soda, red wine and vegetables rich in color stain your teeth over time. You will definitely get an improvement in color of teeth after a whitening. Hope this helps and good luck.
Just like skin has a natual tone, your teeth have a natural tone. Generally, most whitening systems are good to remove yellow in teeth and superfical staining but it is difficult to get the grey out. it could be the natural undertone in your teeth. As we age, teeth can get darker and more brittle. I am concerend that you feel that your teeth are dull and the enamel is thinning. The question is why is the enamel thinning? It's difficult to assess what exactly is going on just from your picture. When teeth come together sometimes they don't come together in harmony and that can cause wear of the enamel that has taken years to show. For this to be corrected you would have to have your bite analysed. I would reccommend a Pankey Dentist in your area. You should also be aware if you are clenching or grinding your teeth that could be exacerbating the condition. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Great Question--the over the counter systems are great for younger patients--as we get older our teeth are more resistant to these lighter weight bleaching systems--also the mild crowding and overlapping will make strips not fit so well and deliver less bleach directly onto the tooth surface making them less effective.Dentist directed systems will work better for you--custom trays and some chairside procedures such as Zoom are a great place to start. Plan on bleaching for a longer duration as well as longer time overall--another fact of getting older. Have you ever considered straighter teeth? You would be a great candidate for invisalign. Best of luck!
There are many options, and they all "work". If you just want whitER, anything is fine. If you want teeth as white as they can get, then the KöR system is the way to go.
Yes!!! Your teeth are made up of tubules, which expand with the bleach. During the time these tubules are "enlarged," your teeth will soak up more color than normal. It takes roughly 48 hours for those tubules to close. After 48 hours you are safe to eat and drink normally!
We always whiten with tray 1. We add the attachments at tray two. This allows our patients to whiten in the first two weeks and get used to the trays.
That is very unusual--it is most likely a chemical burn on your gum tissues--sometimes this can lead to canker sores that last for 7-10 days and very painful--you can try OTC meds or see a dentist for more options--Dr John Merrill
