When I smile, laugh or talk, my chin muscle tightens, sometimes so much that I can actually feel it and unsightly 'lines' form. The muscles have been like this since I was born. I used Botox 3 times when I was 15. It seemed to help, although I felt like the lower half of my face appeared more full, which I didn't like. I am more than willing to consider surgery if it is a reasonable option. I have always hated my smile and will do anything to not feel so hideous.

Removing the excess bone on one side of the chin is a straightforward procedure that can be done from an intaoral approach. One technical point with its intraoral removal is that any excess soft tissue should be resuspended so there is not a soft tissue sag from where the bone as removed.
If you are having TMJ issues or trouble chewing your food a TMJ specialist prior to your starting on an exercise program should evaluate this. If your issue is aesthetic there are different options. Like any muscle you can exercise it to increase its strength and tone. I doubt that you could...
