Hi, I'm 19 female I really want a mommy makeover to help with my self-image, I have HS with some flares, I'm extremely interested in getting this procedure and was wondering if my HS would interfere with my ability to get this procedure?
Answer: Can I still get a mommy makeover with Hidradenitis suppurativa? Thank you for your question. The answer is it would really depend on the severity of the HS, whether or not you were having active flares around the time of surgery, and where those areas were in relation to the operative areas. Best thing to do is see a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery for a consult to discuss your goals. Best of luck! Answer: Mommy makeover with Hidradenitis suppurativa Having Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) doesn’t necessarily exclude you from getting a mommy makeover, but it does add complexity and requires careful consideration by both you and your surgeon. HS is a chronic skin condition that causes painful lumps, abscesses, and scars, primarily in areas where skin rubs together, such as the armpits, groin, and buttocks. It's essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in dealing with patients who have HS. Factors to consider: HS Flare-ups: Flare-ups can occur unpredictably and may complicate surgical procedures or affect healing. Surgeons may prefer to schedule surgery during periods of remission to minimize risks. Incision Placement: Given that HS affects areas where skin folds or experiences friction, surgical incisions need careful planning to avoid exacerbating the condition. Risk of Infection: HS increases the risk of post-operative infection. Surgeons may take extra precautions, prescribe antibiotics, or recommend specific wound care routines to minimize this risk. Healing and Scarring: HS can affect wound healing, potentially leading to delayed healing or increased scarring. Your surgeon will need to discuss realistic expectations regarding scarring and recovery. A thorough consultation with a surgeon is crucial. They'll evaluate the severity and extent of your HS, discuss your medical history, and formulate a personalized plan to address your aesthetic concerns while minimizing risks associated with HS. It's essential to be transparent about your HS condition, adhere to your treatment plan, and follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions diligently to optimize healing and minimize complications.

Answer: Can I still get a mommy makeover with Hidradenitis suppurativa? Thank you for sharing your question. Most likely it will not impact your ability to receive a MMO but it would be important to discuss the risk of flares and possible infections depending on the exact procedures you are interested in obtaining.

Answer: Mommy makeover Dear RSProfile348825, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
