Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Hi June. Picosure is a very good laser if you want tattoo removal, birthmark removal or sun damage. But for under eye crepey skin, it is far inferior to fractional laser resurfacing. If you are choosing the Picosure because it's got no downtime (as compared to fractional laser resurfacing), then we would rethink your choice. Although Picosure does have rejuvenation qualities, your best bet under the eyes is fractional resurfacing with coagulation. This type of treatment will involve about 5-7 days of recovery, but when done well, you will be much happier and only have to do it once or twice.
Picosure Focus is a suitable option for tightening the crepey skin around the eyes and will accomplish the goal in a manner that will not require a great deal of down time. I would recommend 4-6 treatments, however.
Thanks for your question and posting a picture. After a complete consultation in a medical setting, we would probably offer you several options. For skin tightening, we would probably recommend trying a series of bulk heating treatments of the area first, rather than our PicoSure FOCUS. We love Pelleve for skin tightening. The goal is sustain a skin temperature in the treated area for 3-5 minutes at 40-43 degrees Celsius. Pelleve is painless, no downtime procedure that feels like a warm rock massage. Since it is radio frequency and not a laser, it is safe for all skin types and all ages ESPECIALLY AROUND THE EYES. We might also suggest some filler, BOTOX, a couple of different lasers, including the PicoSure. Best of luck.
Picosure can help, especially if one has darker skin type, however much better lasers out there for this job including erbium and CO2, both in fully ablative as well as fractional mode. Pico is best for low downtime skin rejuvenation in ethnic skin types with mild laxity. In your case, it can improve things, but I would use other methods- lasers. All the best, Dr Davin Lim.
