Effect of BBL on active pustual cystic acne with active infection after taking ibuprofen?

My daughter has fair, sensitive skin, with active pustual acne. Is BBL recommended for this type of skin? If so, how frequent, at what setting, and what can happen if she has taken aspirin or ibprofin an hour before a BBL treatment?

Taking aspirin or ibuprofin should have no effect on BBL(Broad Band Light treatment). However, I would not recommend a procedure over conventional treatment for acne. The mainstay for inflammatory acne is antibiotics, which are available in both oral and topical forms. Even topical antibiotics can have rare but serious side effects and you should google them for full information. I prefer topical 2% erythromycin solution applied twice a day, as it is safe and as effective as most oral antibiotics. Bear in mind that it can take 6 to 8 weeks before you might notice improvement regardless of treatment, so be patient.                jlr

If a patient has any active infection elective medical procedures should be avoided.see a board certified dermatologist to discuss your daughter's acne treatment. Although bbl as well as other laser and laser like devices can improve acne, they are certainly not considered first line treatment.
