My plastic surgeon has suggested botox. I did not have the amount of wrinkles that are now appearing before this lift and I really didn't want to start Botox!
Answer: Wrinkles after lower blepharoplasty In lower lid surgery mostly fat is removed. If a lot of skin is removed it can cause serious complications like ectropion etc. The left over skin can wrinkle more from stretching that happens secondary to swelling after surgery. It can be improved with a CO2 laser or a chemical peel. Botox might help but only a little and is temporary. Answer: How was your lower lid blepharoplasty done? The technique could influence the outcome. Regardless, now that you are where you are, your surgeon should be able to help provide options for you to consider. If your wrinkling is from hyperdynamic muscles, Botox would be the answer. If from excess skin, some kind of resurfacing or pinch blepharoplasty would improve your situation. When I do lower lids (I prefer the transconjunctival, arcus release, fat preservation methods), laser of the lower lids is considered routine as part of that procedure.
