Can naturally yellow teeth be whitened?

Well, since your teeth have been yellow since childhood, it probably means that they cannot be whitened.  The best solution for you at this point would probably be porcelain veneers.  With veneers you can easily select your shade and it is permanent.  This means that your smile would be highly stain resistant to most foods.  Aside from dark wines, curry, and cigarette smoke, you would likely have white teeth as long as you have the veneers.  Good luck and I hope this helps. Whitening works better on some people more than others.  If your teeth are yellow because of an enamel defect, you may not see any results from whitening.  You should consult a dentist very experienced in cosmetics to have your teeth evaluated.  That will give you a better answer.  If teeth bleaching isn't the best option for you, there will be another option your dentist can present you with.
