Hello there,Sorry to hear this is happening to you, but I can tell you that teeth whitening is often a bad idea for patients that regularly smoke. Smoking easily turns teeth yellow, so I would suggest that you consider trying to quit smoking or actually trying porcelain veneers to make your teeth permanently white. Good luck and I hope this helps. Follow me if you have more questions.Sarah Thompson, DMDReal Self 100
The first thing to realize is that teeth whitening is not a permanent solution. The other thing to remember is that smoking will restain your teeth very quickly. Certain liquids that you drink such as red wine, coffee, tea, etc. contribute to staining. Schedule an appointment with your dentist to discuss the issue and give you some options.
When teeth are bleached the pores of the teeth are opened and are therefore highly susceptible to becoming stained again. After bleaching your teeth you should avoid any foods or drinks that would stain a white T-shirt for at least a week. A good in-office bleaching system should come complete with take-home bleaching trays that can be used to easily re-bleach your teeth back to their bright white appearance.Good luck!
I am unaware of any 3 day laser whitening procedure. That being said there are a couple issues that could have caused this. First, if the teeth are dehydrated they can get VERY opaque white, this gives you the "WOW" factor. Unfortunately, once the teeth rehydrate the bright white effect is lost and a little color returns. You can help this if your dentist made you take home touch up trays. Secondly, you should just try to stay away from the things that can stain your teeth while you are whitening, a tooth mold will not 100% protect the teeth.
I'm not exactly sure what process you used to whiten your teeth. One thing to understand is that whitening is never a permanent process. Most dentists make trays for home maintenance, to be used periodically with a bleaching gel. Your diet and lifestyle will determine how quickly your teeth re-stain. I would suggest visiting with your dentist to confirm their exact suggestions for keeping your teeth their whitest white.
