Read that since birth control pills mimic pregnancy, it can make spider veins worse by weakening vein walls. Is it true? (photo)

Spider and varicose veins run in my family, so I know I'm already at risk for them. I've had spider veins on my thighs since age 13, (am now 23) but they have progressively gotten worse and have spread to other areas of my legs. I recently had a round of sclerotherapy done, and am wondering if my birth control pill could possibly be causing more spider veins. I've been on a regular dose birth control pill for the last year, and they seem to have gotten worse. Is it worth changing my birth control method?
