How soon after I get butt implants, may I lay on my back in the dentist chair position?

BBL recovery is shorter than buttock implant surgery recovery.  There is possibly less pain with the subfascial technique; however, most plastic surgeons will place the implants in an intramuscular position to reduce complications.  The specific answer to your question is more complicated as it depends upon many factors such as the angle of your chair and the way your surgery was performed.  
Every surgeon will have a different recommendation for a pillow. I would ask your surgeon about which one is preferred.  You want to make sure that you do not put pressure on your buttocks and hips.  Be sure you are sitting with the back of the thigh.

Dear Gherring1,   Congratulation on your up coming butt implants surgery. This is a great procedure and a great investment in yourself. As such, you have to protect your investment and follow strictly  you surgeon's post operative instructions, to avoid complication.   In my practice, patients are instructed to avoid strenuous activity for 6 weeks and have to avoid lying on their back for one month. They can sit, however, they have to lean forward while sitting for one month, to avoid pressure on the wound.   So, in regard to your dentist question, it is best to do it a month after surgery, or if is a dental  emergency. sit leaning forward.     Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice 'S' curve, nice projection, round hips, single low  inter gluteal incision and natural look.                       Best of luck,                               Dr Widder

It all depends upon the surgeons technique. With the double incision and intramuscular technique I actually allow my patients to start lying in the dentist chair, or modified dentist chair, position as soon as two to three days after surgery. Hope this helps.
