After gluteal implant surgery back in November in 2016, my wound is opening back. What should I do? (Photo)

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. The central single incision has problems with healing ~50% of the time, which is an extremely high and unacceptable number in the world of surgical risks. Although it is incredibly rare for it to suddenly break open again, it is most likely the result of either direct trauma to the area or a internal suture that has worked its way to the surface.  If the opening is superficial and does not communicate all the way to the implant pocket it should heal fine with proper wound care and dressing changes. However if there is communication all the way to the implant then it’s likely that the implant will have to be removed. After the implant is removed and the wound has healed for about six months, then an implant can then be replaced. Long story short, i highly recommend you visit a plastic surgeon buttock implant specialist asap. Hope this helps.

An open wound at this stage of recovery needs is not normal and needs the attention of your surgeon immediately.  If the correct size implant is chosen, your wound should start to heal one week after your procedure. If the implant is too large tit can prevent the incision from healing and invite infection.  Choosing the right size implant is crucial to ensure the overall success of your procedure. Be sure to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon that specializes in this procedure and is well known for it.
