I had lipo 360 in Nov 2021. I went to a board certified plastic surgeon. My stomach now looks deformed and I can't even wear a fitted shirt. You can see all the waves and dents and it sticks out at my belly button and just looks awful. Why does it stick out in this specific area? How can I fix this? Please help. The doctor just keeps telling me healing takes time but I know this isn't going away.
Answer: VASER HI DEF 4D LIPO / 360 Degree Liposculpture / Body Contouring / REVISION Lipo / Skin Removal Surgery Pending a formal evaluation, you may be a good candidate for a Revision Liposuction. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HI-DEF VASER Liposuction and can only be done by a well-trained body contouring specialist. At the same time, fat should be harvested and purified, with PRP and stem cells added, and then injected into muscles, indentations and cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. For a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), we inject the fat into the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with a combination of QWO or Cellfina, subcision, and/or fillers such as Bellafill, Renuva synthetic fat, or Sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery, then it will need to be removed: tummy tuck/abdominoplasty for lower abdominal skin; breast lift for excess breast skin; and/or a brachioplasty for loose arm skin. Overall, you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Seroma? Fat? Diastasis? Dear Optimistic338655, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: High definition liposuction revision It is difficult to answer your question with just the one picture, but contour irregularities and poor skin texture is often resolved using high definition vaser liposuction and possibly a skin tuck depending on the extent of redundant skin and poor skin texture. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Assessing the outcome of a procedure In order for us to assess the outcome of a procedure we have to see what you look like before. This means displaying proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures then contact your plastic surgeon and ask them to forward the pictures they took. Your picture is insufficient to tell but it looks like you may not have been an ideal candidate for Liposuction. Perhaps a tummy tuck would’ve been a better procedure for you. There are four variables that contributes to shape and contour of the abdomen. These are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies called diastasis recti and lastly excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat. I have a feeling you may have all four of these but it’s hard to tell from the single picture. Delivering high-quality liposuction results is more difficult than people believe. I continue to stress the importance of properly vetting plastic surgeons by comparing different providers in each person‘s community. Before committing to surgery patients should interview as many plastic surgeons as possible to help find the most experienced and talented provider in order to minimize the chance of having a poor outcome. In the end there only two variables that determine Liposuction results they are the skill and experience of the surgeon combined with the individual candidacy of the patient. The most talented plastic surgeon in the world it’s not going to deliver great Liposuction results on someone who isn’t a good candidate for the procedure and likewise a plastic surgeon who lacks skill and experience isn’t going to deliver great results on someone who is a perfect candidate. Generally there isn’t much patients can do about their own candidacy but sometimes there is such as those who are a beast should simply work on the primary problem which is weight loss. Patients can however have full control over who does the procedure. Finding the most talented and experienced provider requires scheduling multiple in person consultations and comparing providers results. Generally speaking the most talented providers will have hundreds or possibly thousands or before and after pictures of the same procedure and anatomic area and typically will have very few to no justified negative reviews on all the various physician review websites. At this point you can re-post including quality pictures, follow up with your provider or schedule second opinion in person consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
