Answer: Facial balance It's difficult to make an assessment of facial balance without seeing your whole face. From the photos provided there is nothing that stands out as being obvious or out of proportion. If you would like to try lip fillers, be sure to visit with an expert injector and discuss your treatment goals.

Answer: Facial assessment When we make aesthetic assessments we need to see the surrounding areas to put things in context. This is why limited to pictures without showing the rest of the face limit the ability to give a good assessment. your lips look normal, typical with a lower lip that’s somewhat larger than your upper lip which is typical for the great majority of all people. I see no indication of anything being abnormal or any need for any necessary treatment. If you want larger lips than lip fillers could do that. With a smaller upper lip I would be reluctant to do anything but conservative volumes in the upper lip and with lip augmentation providers should always maintain the same ratio in regards to size difference between the upper and lower lips. personally I typically never treat the upper lip without treating the lower lip and try to maintain the baseline volume ratio between the two lips. If you have body dysmorphia then I suggest staying away from plastic surgeons as much as possible. Providers making money from doing aesthetic treatments can really make people feel like there’s something wrong with them or that they need some treatment to look normal. Based on your limited pictures your appearance is completely normal and appropriate without a clear indication for needing anything done. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
