Midline anomalies are often due to issues related to embryological development. During embryological development, the two sides of the face develop independently from each other. They eventually fuse in the midline. Incomplete fusion of the two sides of the face can lead to congenital anomalies such as facial, cleft, cleft lips, or cleft palettes. There are many different variations of this. I’m guessing that, some layer of soft tissue may not have fused all the way to the midline, causing a slight congenital anomaly.I don’t know if there’s a simple treatment option for this. This is a fairly unusual finding. You may want to consult with plastic surgeons who do cranial facial surgery, or those who have strong emphasis on cleft lip and palate repair, who see facial anomalies on a regular basis.Midline anomalies are often related to early embryological development.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD.
Your filler is long gone, so this is your anatomy. No, you do not look like a duck. Your teeth, the usual cause, may be positioning your upper lip a little more forward.
Filler will slowly absorb. Exercising a lot can increase the removal faster so start running or go to the gym daily.
I encourage you to follow up with your injector for an evaluation. It could be related to superficial filler. If that is the case it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It could also be a medical issue that is exacerbated by the filler treatment.
