It may be fluid trapped between the incision and a steri strip or may be a small blister along the incision also from steris or other adhesive strips.  Usually this does not represent an infection.  However, let your surgeon know so he can decide whether this needs to be treated. 

Great question!  It may be a little bit of old blood draining from the incision that was trapped under the skin and working its way out.  Does not necessarily mean you have an infection, especially if you do not have any other symptoms such as fever >101.5, redness, cloudiness to the drainage, etc.  To be safe, I would see if your surgeon would like you to come in early to check it.  In the meantime, ask if they have any dressing recommendations such as removing any tapes, dry gauze bandage changes several times per day etc.  Generally, keeping the skin as dry as possible when there is drainage will help it to heal a little faster.  Good luck!
