You can have swelling and stiffness with expressions if you have too much product injected or if it is injected too superficially. Proper correction should not affect facial movement after the initial swelling goes away (2-4 weeks). This may take more or less than a full syringe. Please go to a practice that does a high volume of tear trough injections, and look at before and after photos. You can dissolve filler if you do not like it, but if you get way too much filler, it could damage the delicate eyelid skin and lead to permanent swelling or skin wrinkling. 

Properly injected tear trough filler should not have any affect on your facial expressions. In experienced hands, this is a safe and effective treatment.
