Will tear trough filler affect facial expressions?

I have bad under eye bags that bother me and I'm interested in tear trough filler. I am concerned that the filler will dampen facial expressions or be easy to notice when I smile. Also, what happens when the filler dissipates? Any negative long term effects? Finally, I use heating pads for my eyes for dry eye. Will the heat disrupt the filler? Please help!

You can have swelling and stiffness with expressions if you have too much product injected or if it is injected too superficially. Proper correction should not affect facial movement after the initial swelling goes away (2-4 weeks). This may take more or less than a full syringe. Please go to a practice that does a high volume of tear trough injections, and look at before and after photos. You can dissolve filler if you do not like it, but if you get way too much filler, it could damage the delicate eyelid skin and lead to permanent swelling or skin wrinkling.

Hyaluronic acid filler will naturally break down over time, just like your body's own natural hyaluronic acid. In the under eye area, hyaluronic acid filler can last several years, so make sure you choose a provider experienced in treating this area.
