Hello IdrussThank you for your question. The night before surgery and even the same morning you could use any soap, but it is prefer to use Chlorhexidine soap. This is an antibacterial and an antiseptic used to clean woands. Best wishes.
The most widely used disinfectan "soap" is chlorhexidine. I didn't not feel particularly strong about using it for unless you are have no implant surgery then it may be a better choice than a mild soap such as Dove.Good luckDr. PG
Thank you for posting your question. The best pre-surgical soap has an antiseptic called chlorhexedrine. It is the antiseptic in the brand product Hibiclens. You can buy it over the counter at any drug store. In our office we provide it to our patients at no cost. Hope this was helpful. Good luck!
We have our patients purchase Hibiclens to wash with the night before surgery and the morning of surgery. This is a pre-surgical wash to help pre-sterilize the skin. This can be purchased over the counter.
Some plastic surgeons have specific skin cleansers they prefer patients to use prior to surgery. Others have no special requirement other than to shower or bathe as normal the night before or morning of your procedure. Best to check with your surgeon. Best of luck to you!
You really need to check with your chosen clinic surgeon! In my private practice we give to ALL my preops a 3 ounce capo to wash with before the surgery.
Chlorhexidine containing soaps or hibi scrubs are available to wash your body the day before surgery . Those are antiseptic cleaners .
