Does your period cause your breast implants to get harder & swell?

when you are on your period you experience normal swelling. \Implants are also responsible for some swelling. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon. 

Breast implants themselves do not change during your menstrual cycle. Breasts often swell and can become firmer and tender during a womans period regardless of whether they have implants or not. Logically then, your breasts with implants, now feel firmer and larger during your menstrual cycle.

When you are on your period, you may experience increased swelling in your breasts. This is regardless of whether you have implants or not. Menstrual swelling may feel especially accentuated due to your implants.Since your implants are placed under the muscle, it is possible that heightened activity added to the sweeping as well.

Thank you for your question.  I typically tell my patients that your breast do not know that you have had a breast augmentation.  During your menstrual cycle, your natural breast tissue should act like it did before you had your breast surgery.  So if you had any breast tenderness or swelling, you can still have those same symptoms after surgery.

Very possible, but best to ask your chosen surgeon about these post op issues. I tell my patients expect your menstral cycle to have an effect on your implants...
