What could be causing my belly button to become wider and deeper?

I'm 19 years old female I noticed my belly button getting wider and deeper I'm not under any type of medication nor have I done any surgery and I didn't gain any significant wight recently. I was experiencing this for a while but I didn't give it any thought before since I didn't feel any pain but it is deeper now it started to become apparent to other people.

I want to get my bottom part of my belly button pierced. I got umbilical hernia repair in 2008. Can I do that?
